Did you know a few years ago I totally swore off newborn sessions? Not for any particular reason other than they are just a lot of work. They take a certain expertise IMO and I just wasn’t interested in the fine-art, posed style. I think those types of newborn photos are BEAUTIFUL, but they frankly are not in my wheelhouse. I told myself I would only be taking “casual” newborn sessions. Basically, accepting parents that just want snuggly photos of them swooning over their baby as if I were a fly on the wall. As luck would have it, we had quite a few built-in friends when we arrived in Delaware, from a previous duty station. One of our friend couples just happened to be expecting right around the time we arrived! And thus, these gorgeous in-home newborn session photos were born. 😭
Real talk, I could hardly believe Natalie and Steven even had a newborn in the house! They were bright-eyed and smiling when I showed up at their perfectly manicured fall front door. At two weeks postpartum, I am pretty dang impressed with their crew. I loved documenting their easy-going nature. They are such natural parents, able to laugh off the hard stuff and celebrate the good stuff. Not to mention little Emilia looks like a LITERAL angel. She has a perfect little button nose and squishy cheeks. This was an in-home newborn session of my dreams (just saying). And now I will stop blabbing so you can look at just a few of their beautiful photos! Thank you for trusting me to capture this time in your life, Steven and Natalie! You’re already rocking it as parents!
